BLAIR WITCH PROJECT The Fotonovel
I have been collecting the out of print Fotonovels since I was a child, and I must say that I'm ecstatic that a new series has arrived for a new generation. This Fotonovel is beautiful, except that the curse words are censored. If it wasn't for that, the book would have gotten 5 stars.

The Broken Taboo: Sex in the Family
Published in Paperback by Human Sciences Pr (October, 1980)
Authors: Blair Justice and Rita Justice
Average review score:

Closed minds, turn away.
The most moving thing I read in the book was of our society's refusal to admit incest happens, especially of mothers refusing to believe when it was taking place in their homes. This refusal to acknowledge that there is even anything to acknowledge is almost as great a crime as the abuse of one's own children, and the Justices put the fact squarely in the reader's lap.

Casino Tournament Strategy
Published in Paperback by Pi Yee Press (November, 1997)
Authors: Stanford Wong, Anthony Curtis, and Blair Rodman
Average review score:

Good Tournament Times
This book is crucial for any who want to participate in casino tournaments. Generally, in these tournaments you are not playing against the casino, but against other players. Since this is very different than normal play, it is very different. This book gives you a much greater advantage than the other players with whom you are competing. With thousands and thousands of dollars available in prize money, the cost of this book is insignificant in comparison to the gains it can potentially earn you.

A Century of Jayhawk Triumphs: The 100 Greatest Victories in the History of Kansas Basketball
Published in Hardcover by Addax Pub Group (October, 1997)
Authors: Blair Kerkhoff and Jeff Bollig
Average review score:

A must-have for any Jayhawk basketball fan.
The rich tradition and history of Kansas basketball is captured in this book. If you are a fan of Kansas basketball, the book is a "must-have." Many of the stories I had heard from my father and grandfather, both KU basketball fans, were rekindled in reading this book. And, many of my own memories, which had grown hazy as the years past, were revitalized by reading this history.

Combat Patrol
Published in Paperback by Bantam Books (November, 1978)
Author: Blair
Average review score:

The "good parts" of Silent Victory
This a shorter version of the book "Silent Victory: The U.S. Submarine War Against Japan". It concentrates on the patrol narratives, and a lot of the reference material is left out. So if you just want to read about the patrols, this is the book for you. Anyone who is involved in weapons procurement, design, testing, etc. should read the descriptions of the early torpedo problems. I have spent my career doing R&D on weapons, so the sections describing the torpedo problems hit home. The short description of the problem is that the torpedoes were not adequately tested because the Bureau of Ordinance didn't think it was necessary, and in the early years of the war a lot of the torpedoes did not work. It is likely that some US subs were lost because of the bad torpedoes, certainly many opportunities at sinking Japanese shipping were lost. Whenever some manager tries to cut back on testing I slap this book down and tell them to read it. They don't of course, but at least I can say I tried to warn them.

A COMPENDIUM OF CHRONICLES: Rashid al-Din's Illustrated History of the World (The Nasser D. Khalili Collection of Islamic Art, VOL XXVII)
Published in Hardcover by Nour Foundation (November, 1995)
Authors: Sheila S. Blair and Shelia S. Blair
Average review score:

Synopsis
The Nasser D. Khalili Collection is the greatest collection of Islamic art in private hands. Among its holdings of manuscripts is a fragmentary copy in Arabic of the Jami al-Tawarikh or Universal History, one of the greatest illustrated medieval manuscripts to have survived from either East or West. Written by the historian and vizier to the Ilkhanid court, Rashid al-Din, and copied in Tabriz between 1310 and 1315 by the author's own calligraphers and illustrators, the manuscript's importance as the first world history was quickly recognized. Sheila Blair reconstructs the often complex history of its ownership, explains its seminal role in the evolution of the illustrated Persian book, and challenges the belief of previous scholars that the Nour fragment and that in the Library of the University of Edinburgh are parts of different manuscripts. Her study of the manuscript's text and miniatures - accompanied by numerous colour details and duotone illustrations of comparative material - provides fascinating insights into the state of pre-Mongol painting and the working practices of a Persian atelier over six hundred years ago

The Everything Kids' Puzzle Book (Everything Kids')
Published in Paperback by Adams Business Media (01 May, 2000)
Authors: Jennifer A. Ericsson, Beth L. Blair, and Beth Blair
Average review score:

Refreshing, Thoughtful, Educational Puzzle Book
My 8 1/2 year loved this book. It is very well thought out and educational as well as fun. It has a wide variety of activities which is difficult to find in a children's puzzle book. We found it one of the best puzzle books and we have done a lot of them as my son has enjoyed activity books from a very young age. I only reserve giving it 5 stars because there are a few mistakes in it that hopefully will be corrected in the next edition.

Exploring Social Psychology (4th Edition)
Published in Paperback by Pearson Allyn & Bacon (10 November, 1997)
Authors: Robert A. Baron, Blair T. Johnson, and Donn Erwin Byrne
Average review score:

Go for the comics first... enjoy the rest later.
You've got to love a book with comics in it. The actual text was pretty good too. The book covers several psychological experiments, which were interesting. Works well for general reading as well as a text book if you are interested in psychology.

Favorite Fairy Tales Told in India.
Published in School & Library Binding by Little Brown & Co (Juv Trd) (April, 1973)
Authors: Virginia Haviland and Blair Lent
Average review score:

India Fairytales
Haviland did an excellent job, as she did in all of her fairytale books, to capture the culture and history of the country in her stories. She created a good interpretation of ancient fairytales from India. This book would be very useful in the classroom when learning about India and surrounding countries. It comes highly recommended.
